3) Steve Woznaik(sitting) and Steve Jobs of APPLE Computers.He was three months late in filing a name for the business because he didn't get any better name for his new company.So one day he told to the staff: " If I'll not get better name by 5 o'clcok today, our company's name will be anything he likes..."so at 5 o'clcok nobody cameup with better name, and he was eating APPLE that time...so he kept the name of the company 'Apple Computers'..^

4) Bill Hewlett(L) and Dave Packard? of HP.Behind them in the picture is the famous HP Garage.Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard tossed a coin to decide whether the company they founded would be called Hewlett-Packard or Packard-Hewlett.And the winner was NOT Bill... the winner was Dave.^

9) Linus Torvalds of Linux Operating System Linus Torvalds originally used the Minix OS on his system which he replaced by his OS.Hence the working name was Linux (Linus' Minix).He thought the name to be too egotistical and planned to name it Freax (free + freak + x).His friend Ari Lemmk encouraged Linus to upload it to a network so it could be easily downloaded.Ari gave Linus a directory called linux on his FTP server, as he did not like the name Freax.Linus like that directory name and he kept the name of his new OS to LINUX...^

Is Airtel’s & other Mobile operaters Pay Per Second A Marketing Gimmick To Counter Tata Docomo?

Well it seems now that every operator is flooding the market with Pay Per Second concept. Each day we get to see new tariff and special packs are being offered by all new entrants and existing ones. Still many new operators are yet to launch their services in days to come but existing ones don’t seem to leave a bit of it.

People are being convinced by VAS offered by them but new plans and tariffs too. Recently we saw a big wave starting with the new entrant i.e. Tata Docomo launching its services with an all new tariff scheme of pay per second which has brought out a huge movement in the market.

With DOT’s mandatory order for all telecom service providers to go with pay per second now every operator is giving pay per second schemes.

On 30th Oct the leading mobile service provider Bharti Airtel launched their much awaited “Pay Per Second” tariff all throughout India. So we decided to compare their tariff with the new entrant in the market i.e. Tata Docomo. So let’s find out what’s the pros and cons being delivered by the two telecom biggies.

Let’s take on Airtel first and compare it with that of Docomo’s.

Airtel as we see has been in the Indian telecom space from the beginning since its inception in the year 2001 and now its one of the most admired brand with the largest number of customers. But looking into their tariff it seems rather awkward since they haven’t kept it normal and simple. With different calling rates to different network it might be sometimes confusing to keep a track on how much money have you chalked out while talking. On the other hand Docomo’s plan seems rather simple and easy to understand. With 1p/sec throughout India consumers will be able to keep track of their account and control their spending.

Airtel has kept different SMS charges even in their Pay Per Second plan with local sms being charged at Re.1 and National sms at Rs.1.50. But Docomo’s sms charges are 60p for local and Rs.1.20 for National Which is again lower as compared to that of Airtel’s.

Airtel’s Pay Per Second tariff plan which has been dubbed in as “Freedom Plan” has been designed for a limited period of 1 year i.e. the calling facility in basis of per second will be limited for one year only. Whereas that of Docomo’s comes in by default and is available for lifetime. No recharges are needed to opt for per second calling after one year.

Coming to the price of the pack to activate the per second tariff, Airtel has kept the price tag ranging from Rs.64 to Rs.99 and varies from circle to circle which is rather absurd. Docomo’s does not charge anything extra for activating the per second pack since the tariff plan by default is on per second basis. In short it might seem that Airtel is taking opportunity to grab some more bites from the consumer’s pocket.

The tariff as in case of Airtel’s ranges from 1p/sec to 1.2p/sec and looks unorganized since normal calculation beyond the decimal point is quite hard to understand. Normal local A2A calls are kept at 1p/sec and that to other operators are charged at 1.2p/sec which is 20% more than the normal rate which is being charged by other operators. Docomo’s tariff is simple since all calls are charged at 1p/sec throughout India. P.S. Tata Docomo is offering a limited period offer of STD calls at 1p/sec.

Airtel has not considered the per calling service in their post paid service and VAS, IVR calling, etc. Post paid customers might be hindered by this move since they might feel neglected. Tata Docomo’s incorporation of per second tariff is included in their Postpaid service, VAS and IVR. It’s quite cheaper to enjoy the benefits on Tata Docomo’s since you won’t be overcharged as calls will be restricted to the minutes of usage. Since VAS and IVR calls are quite costly there will a lot of savings in case of Docomo.

Airtel’s superior network has an edge over other and is a one step ahead that will better in customer’s opting to choose new connection since it being the oldest players in the market has a firm presence all throughout the nation. Docomo will take some time to acknowledge itself as a branded service provider.

Airtel is costly in terms of tariff plan but Docomo is cheaper compared to that of Airtel’s.

Most of the telecom operators in India, including Airtel, Vodafone, BSNL, Aircel, , MTS India and Ping Mobile have already launched a Pay Per Second billing plan after the TATA Docomo’s effect in the GSM service segment.

Now Vodafone also Launched the Pay per Sec Tariff,It had just copied the Airtel.
The charges are same as airtel charges.

Idea also Launched th pay per secound Plan..

Now its just a wait and watch game to see who heads for the crown and immerges as the number one service provider in India.

Mainly many chiense handsets are not having IMEI numbers.

The authorities have already issued orders to mobile service providers not to accept any calls from handsets without a legitimate international mobile equipment identity (IMEI) number.

The Global Systems for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) maintains a worldwide database of genuine IMEI numbers. This is activated and updated every 15 days in the Equipment Identity Register of mobile operators’ networks. The IMEI number is used to identify mobile calls.

How To Check Your Mobile Phone’s IMEI Validity :

Firstly you need to find out your mobile’s IMEI number, which can be found using

the following steps.

1.On your mobile’s home screen, type in the following code *#06#

2.Next send the SMS of IMEI you found in Step 1, to 53232.

For example, type IMEI 123456789012345 and send it to 53232. and Rs.3/- charge for each SMS.

You should get a reply as ‘Success’, if your IMEI number is Valid, otherwise the reply would be indicated as ‘Invalid IMEI’.

Incase you have a invalid IMEI Number on your handset you can get a new IMEI number for your mobile for Rs.199/- as part of the GII Program by The Government Of India at the Authorized Genuine IMEI Implant(GII) Centers.

India Post has recently launched a one of a kind sms based service which will allow their customers to keep track of the Speed Post and eMO (Electronic Money Order).

The service has been launched on 19th of Sept with the Speed Post data and eMO on 23rd Sept onwards.

A customer needs to do is just sms the Speed Post number in case of eMO the eMO PNR number to a dedicated short code of 55352 an quick automated reply will be delivered to the customers mobile number stating all the details the service is available across all service providers in the country.

CD and DVD are fragile media. A few scratches here and there and they can easily become coasters on your table. I have had plenty of them myself. Let’s just look at some of the ways to repair damaged CD’s and DVD’s and recover data from those spoilt CD/DVD’s.

Anatomy of scratches :

Scratches that are perpendicular (going from the center outwards) are generally less harmful or damaging than the scratches that go along the spiral. So if your CD/DVD has more of the latter ones, then the chances of recovering data from that CD or DVD may be bleak. Nevertheless, Thou shall try till thou art able to Make good Use Of thy media.

Attempt to Recover Data from Damaged CD / DVD First and foremost try some software apps to make your life easier and attempt to recover data from the disc. You can try more then one application if you didn’t succeed with previous ones. I have had experiences in the past when one of them has done a better job than the others either in the amount of data that is recovered or the speed with which it is recovered. However most of the time CD Recovery Toolbox has come up on top. Just insert the damaged CD, DVD, HD DVD (if you still use them) or Blue-Ray disc and the software will show you the list of files and folders found on the disc. Choose the ones you want to recover and click next. The process can be very slow mind you so just be patient.

It is also a similar software that is capable of recovering data from damaged or scratched discs. If the recovery is taking too long you can also pause, save and resume sessions at some other time.

If you use Linux you can try ddrescue for recovery needs. It is a command line tool offering plenty of options as you can see below:

Attempt to repair the damaged CDs :

If the disc has profound scratches you can try
to repair those scratches to make the disc
playable again. The best way to do this is to
use a whitening toothpaste or some polish (specially those used by opticians) although
Brasso also works.

• First clean the surface of the disc with a soft lint-free cloth. You can use a gentle detergent (or rubbing alcohol) if there are some grease spots. Make sure there are no finger prints or dust particles. Don’t scrub too hard as you may do more harm than good this way.

• Now apply some toothpaste or polish on the scratched surface. It is best to start with a minimum amount of either, or else you will have your work really cut out trying to buff away the remainder.

• Now rub gently with a cloth moving from the center outwards. If you did a good job, you will actually see the scratch diminishing, or if it was
a faint one, it might just disappear.

The success with this method varies greatly. It is hit and miss. I have had an equal amount of successes and failures. Sometimes it works allowing you to even read data from that part, other times it is of no use at all.

Some Tips :

• Try recovery in a CD/DVD writer as opposed to a reader. Writers are generally more precise and can see the tracks better.
• If possible try recovery on the same drive that was used to create the disc.
Chances of a good read have been found to increase if you use the same drive or at least the same manufacturer.
• If nothing helps you can go to music stores and show them your disc. Such stores usually have a CD refinishing machine and may be able to do a better job.
• As soon as any of the above methods works, don’t think even twice and just create another copy of the disc.
• Buy good quality media.
• Take good care of your CDs

If nothing helps If none of the above helps then maybe it’s time to use the disc as a coaster. However you can put them to some more constructive uses also, like create a spectroscope or a shuriken throwing star or a mobile phone holder.

Many Human Resources staffers preach the dangers of lying on your resume, and they’re right—to an extent. Inventing companies and inflating employment lengths can get you fired or at the very least embarrassed during the hiring process. But employers don’t want complete honesty, do they? There are plenty of facts that are better left private (don’t disclose your religion, age, race, etc.). And employers expect you to put your best foot forward, so show them your very best. You’re giving them a snapshot of who you are; there’s nothing wrong with using just the right lighting to show them your good side on a resume.

So here are 7 “lies,” or careful manipulations of reality that will never get you into trouble (and they have a good shot of landing you a job)

1. Lies of Omission :

No one in the hiring process wants to see an exhaustive list of duties from every job you’ve ever had. They don’t even want to know every job you’ve ever had. Think from their perspective: facing a stack of resumes, they aren’t searching for every last detail about you, they’re trying to find good candidates. Scan your resume for anything that doesn’t scream, “Hire me!” for this particular position. If you can’t trim it or modify it to make it relevant and appealing, delete it altogether. If you’re left with more white space than print, don’t waste your time by applying.

2. Take Credit for Team Success :
Were you a member of a department that increased sales (or reduced expenses) by 10% for 5 years running? List that among your accomplishments if you were even the least bit instrumental in the success. You don’t need to take all the credit, just show your future employer you be a team player on a winning team.

3. Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics :
Almost any job can be converted into numbers somehow: sales, expenses, efficiency, ranking, and especially anything with a dollar sign attached to it. Numbers jump off the page, cutting through the syrupy resume verbiage. If you can fit terms like million, Fortune 500, or any percentage over 100 into the picture, even better. We don’t recommend you fudge the numbers. Just select the ones that are most impressive.

4. Compare Yourself Favorably :
Once you’ve found a way to make your job performance measurable by rank or statistics, you need to show how you stack up to your competition at previous jobs or within the industry. Highlight those areas that make you shine. If you aren’t the very best, simply state that you were/are “among the leading performers,” “in the top 3,” or any other attention-getting comparison that highlights your strengths.

5. Marvel at the Ordinary :
So you waited tables at a coffee shop for two years, that doesn’t have to induce yawns. Convey your mastery of quality customer service. Let them know about your keen sense of intuition and initiative. Find some way to compress your lump-of-coal job into a sparkling diamond of experience. Prospective employers want people with a strong work ethic; don’t just tell them you have it, show them by describing your experience with purpose.

6. Love Every Job :
If you haven’t absolutely fallen in love with one or more of your past jobs (or the one you’re trying to leave) pretend you did. Think of every position you’ve ever held as a fantastic opportunity. One of the single most important traits in an employee is attitude, and a bad one will cover your resume like a foul stench. Your potential boss won’t be able to throw it away fast enough. A positive attitude toward past jobs will help you feel better about what you’ve accomplished and who you are, a perk that will help you throughout the hiring process.

7. Change Your Identity :
We’re not suggesting you use a false name on a resume—that could get tricky once you start filling out your tax forms. But it’s helpful to picture yourself as the person doing the hiring. What would you want to read about a candidate? How would you want the resume to look? Why would you hire . . . you? Make your resume match that image, and you’ll be well on your way to that elusive first interview and a chance at landing a job you just might genuinely fall in love with.

After his return to India in 1915, he organized protests by peasants, farmers, and urban labourers concerning excessive land-tax and discrimination. Later he campaigned against the British to Quit India. Gandhi spent a number of years in jail in both South Africa and India.

Their Activities & Services are :

Dialysis: A person suffering from kidney failure can survive only when he/she undergoes dialysis or a kidney transplantation. Haemodialysis involves the use of an artificial kidney termed “Dialyser”, which emulates the functions of a normal kidney. It needs to be done 2-3 times a week and is expensive. TANKER endeavors to make dialysis affordable for those patients who otherwise cannot afford it. Under our “Sponsor a dialysis” scheme from March 2001 to March. 2009, 13037 free dialysis have been given. At present 30% of Dialysis in all 3 Units is being given free of cost, thanks to SUN Foundation and other regular donors. We are performing 300 free dialysis every month. Altogether, upto March 2009, 55278 dialysis have been done for 543 patients. At present there are 128 patientsin all our units.

Financial Contributions: The Foundation helps poor patients from all over India by offering them one-time contributions ranging from Rs.1,500/- to Rs.20,000/- towards dialysis, transplantation, investigation and post-transplantation medication costs. Upto March 2009 financial help for dialysis, transplantation, medication and investigation costs has been given to the tune of Rs. 49.20 lakhs helping 762 patients.

Fistula Surgery: For the purpose of dialysis, a fistula is created surgically, where the surgeon joins a vein to an artery in the area of the wrist. Impure blood is first drawn from the fistula on the patient's wrist, passed through the dialyser and machine and clean blood is returned to the patient. Fistula surgery costs around Rs. 7,000/- to Rs. 10,000/- in a private hospital. TANKER Foundation facilitates free fistula surgeries to the needy. Upto March 2009, sponsored free fistula surgeries for 55 patients.
